History of Community Investors Icorporated
Community Investors Incorporated Is a 501(c)3 tax deductible Non-profit organization based in Louisiana. The primary service area of the organization is a eight-parish area which includes Acadia, Evangeline, Jeff Davis, Lafayette, St. Landy, St. Martin, St. Mary and Vermillion. It should be noted that while this is the primary service area this does not limit the organizations ability to assist in other areas.
Established in 2005 by Nina DuPont with a vision to encourage, assist and enhance lifestyles by providing tools needed for achievement.
Over the last 3 years Community Investors has grown into a productive organization assisting people from all venues of life.
In October of 2007, Community Investors largest project transpired with the opening of The World Wide Learning Center. Which is an after hour computer and internet accessible monitored location providing After school programs, tutoring and mentoring programs, computer internet access centers, guidance courses on peer pressure, drugs, domestic violence, educational classes consisting of but not limited to: writing resumes, filling applications (computerized and manual), appropriate dress and communication before, during, and after the interview and hiring process. Leadership training, general counseling, basic education (for adults),and general life skills training for all.
Since its opening we have seen an increase in better jobs among adults. and a 93% success rate in the grade point average of the children that attend.
